State note: Medicaid coverage of GLP-1s for weight loss varies by state. As of 2025, only a handful of state Medicaid programs cover anti-obesity medications — most cover them only for type 2 diabetes.

How this is calculated

We use the most-commonly-cited 2024–2025 list prices for a one-month supply:

  • Wegovy: ~$1,350
  • Ozempic: ~$1,000
  • Mounjaro: ~$1,060
  • Zepbound: ~$1,060 (vials may be lower via LillyDirect)
  • Saxenda: ~$1,350

We then apply assumed insurance contributions and any manufacturer savings card maximums:

  • Wegovy savings card: as low as $0/mo with commercial insurance & weight-loss coverage; up to $225/mo off without.
  • Zepbound / Mounjaro savings card: as low as $25/mo with commercial coverage.
  • Federal program enrollees (Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare) are generally ineligible for manufacturer savings cards.

Actual cost depends on your pharmacy, plan formulary tier, and deductible. Use this as a planning baseline, not a quote.
